What will my dog like about this toy?
All dogs have a natural prey drive (the hunting instinct) which is most often triggered through sight or sound. Erratic, scampering movements signal the presence of prey to a dog and most find the motion instinctually exciting. Motion toys like our nutty squirrel gives your dog a natural incentive to engage with a toy.
What is the hard thing inside the toy?
The nutty squirrel motion toy has a motion module inside the belly of the plush animal. The motion module requires standard 2 AAA batteries (not included).
How is the motion in the toy activated?
The motion module (the ball inside the toy) features a round button about the size of a half-dollar; that is the on/off button. When pressed it activates the motion; pressed again, the motion stops.
How will I be able to see where to press the button once the module is inside the toy?
You will easily be able to feel where the round button is even with the plush toy covering the module. Keep in mind that your dog will inadvertently turn the toy on (and off) with his teeth during play. This is all part of the fun.
Are the batteries replaceable?
Yes, replace the batteries when pressing the on/off button fails to activate the toy.
I lost the directions for replacing the batteries; can you help?
Open Velcro-closure on belly of nutty squirrel. Remove the motion ball module partially out of the toy without undoing the ties. Locate two white buttons on either side of the ball. At the same time, press both buttons in and left up to disconnect one half of the ball from the other. Place the ball half to the side. Locate the two battery compartments. One at a time with a small Phillips-head screwdriver, twist the screws to the left to loosen. Please note that the screws will not come out all the way. The remove the battery doors, lift up and then slide out. Insert 2 AAA batteries into each battery compartment. Replace the battery doors and tighten screws. Replace the top half of the ball. Push mechanism back into the plush animal cover then press the closure together.
What is the toy filling made of?
