frequently asked questions - laser bone light toy

How does this toy work?
Laser Bone is an interactive toy that is meant to be enjoyed by dog and dog owners alike. The handheld laser toy allows you to point and move a fine stream of light at a wall, the ground, the ceiling or wherever you want to point it (EXCEPT DIRECTLY INTO YOUR DOG’S EYES), creating squiggles of fast-moving light your dog will love to chase. It’s a great form of exercise for your dog and highly entertaining for you to watch. Remove the pull tab on the underside of the toy. Press and hold the button on top of the toy to activate the laser beam. Release button for OFF position.

Will my dog see the light?
Your dog's ability to see the light depends in part on the time of day and/or available light in a room. Laser bone can be enjoyed any hour of the day, but is particularly fun for dusk or nighttime play when the laser beam will be more visible to your dog. Of course you can play inside anytime in a dim room.

What do dogs like about the light?
What your dog is attracted to is the visual impression created by the light. The laser light beam zipping around the room creates a visual impression of something scurrying off in all directions, like prey might behave. This triggers your dog's natural instinct to chase after it.

How long will the batteries last?
The laser can be activated at least 13,000 times which translates into a lot of fun interaction. We even included an extra set of batteries to give you double the play time!

How do I replace the batteries?
Locate the battery door on the belly of the toy. With a small Phillips-head screwdriver, rotate the screw to the left to remove. Take out old batteries and insert the 3 new ones with the + side pointed towards the laser.

All dogs have a natural prey

All dogs have a natural prey drive (the hunting instinct) which is most often triggered through sight or sound. Erratic, scampering movements signal the presence of prey to a dog and most find the motion instinctually exciting. Motion toys like our nutty squirrel gives your dog a natural incentive to engage with a toy.
